Standard Edition copies: 14 days
You can return a printed Standard Edition copy within 14 days of delivery, for any reason, as long as it’s in the condition it arrived in. You get back the price of the book. If you’re returning it because you changed your mind, the original delivery fee isn’t refunded.
Made-for-you copies
A made-for-you copy is printed with your choices: your binding, your name on the cover, your dedication. Because nobody else can have it, we can’t take it back if you change your mind. We say so before you pay.
If it’s faulty, it’s different: a misprint, loose pages, damage in delivery, or choices that weren’t printed as you made them. Tell us within 14 days and we’ll reprint it or refund it in full, delivery included.
Damaged or wrong copies
Open the order in Your orders, choose Report a problem, pick the copy and add up to 3 photos. We usually reply the same day. You choose a replacement or a refund, and you don’t pay anything to send the damaged copy back.
How to return a copy
- Open the order in Your orders and choose Return items.
- Tick the copies, tell us why, and add photos if something is wrong.
- Pick a day for the courier, within the next 3 working days, and a time slot. They collect from your address; there’s nothing to print.
- Hand the book over in any envelope or bag. We send you a WhatsApp message when it reaches us, and refund the same day.
Pickup is free when a copy is faulty. For a change of mind, 45 EGP for the pickup comes off the refund.

Maktoob credit arrives at once, never expires and pays for anything in the store. Your bank decides the last step of a card refund, so it can sometimes take a little longer; the refund reference in your order helps them find it.
E-books: 48 hours, unopened
Bought the wrong e-book? Ask for a refund within 48 hours, as long as you haven’t opened it in the reader. Reading the free first chapter on the book page doesn’t count. Ask from the purchase in Account › Orders and purchases.
The e-book that comes free with a printed copy goes with it: if you return the printed copy, the e-book leaves your library.
Plus and gifts
Plus isn’t refunded for the period you’ve started, but cancelling stops the next payment and you keep reading until the end of the period you paid for. A gift e-book can be cancelled for a full refund until the person you sent it to claims it.
